Application How-To

Applying your jamberry nails is EASY and can be done with items you likely already have on hand! It can be done with a hair dryer, scissors, a cuticle pusher and file. However, if you don’t have all that at home, we’ve got you covered! We sell an application kit that has everything you need in a cute Jamberry zipper pouch, as well as affordable mini-heaters (we just came out with a new one and it is PURPLE... I have the old black one but I love the new one and want it so bad!!).

While a mini-heater is by no means a necessity for applying Jamberry, it does help make the application even easier because it allows you to use both hands (instead of having to hold the hair dryer with one hand). If you are a die hard nail polish fan and you still plan to keep your polish (or purchase one of our gorgeous lacquers) to wear along with your wraps, the mini heaters also make dry time way faster for your polish! Double bonus!

You will also notice that we offer two nail kits, one with cuticle oil and one without. If you do not already have cuticle oil, I highly recommend adding that to your order too! I love the cuticle oil and use it daily, it helps to keep my nail beds hydrated and promotes healthy growth of my nails (just don't apply it before you apply your wraps because you want your nails dry and not oily before applying them for perfect adhesion - but your cuticles... well those are a different story - moisturizing those cuticles makes your wraps look even more gorgeous because your fingers are healthy and the 'frame' around your nails are smooth and lovely). If you are looking for the complete Jamberry bundle, you may want to include a heater and application kit with your Buy 3, Get 1 deal!

If you have already purchased your wraps and are looking for tips on how to apply them, check out these helpful videos! Although I still highly recommend the traditional (official) jamberry application process to most customers, I have recently fallen in love with the rice bag method, especially for special nail cases like curved nails, etc and for little girls. I also love using the hot rice bags over my nails after I've been wearing my wraps for a while if they start to show any signs of wear. My 8 year old daughter has actually just started her own little business making Jamberry Baggies and selling them, so if you are a local girl and want to help a budding entrepreneur out, let me know and she would be SUPER excited to make you one! She is already better at sewing than I am, and her little baggies are super cute if i do say so myself :) If not, it is very easy to make your own easy makeshift rice bag using a baby sock, filling it with rice and tying it at the top with an elastic band.
There are tons of tips available online and these are only a few of my favorites. But generally, if you have the basic tools listed, you heat your wraps until they are nice and warm and pliable, you prep your nails with alcohol first before applying, and you make sure your cuticles are pushed out of the way so that the wrap can adhere properly to your nail, you'll do great! Any questions, just ask!
