Let it go with Jamberry

Can I say something crazy??

...Would you host a Jamberry party???

Any 'Frozen' fans in your house? There are SO many awesome wintery wraps in the new catalog that would fit PERFECTLY with a Frozen themed princess party - whether for little girls, grownups, or teen/tweens - or mixing the best of both worlds with a "Mommy & Me" party... I'm so excited about all the potential fun to be had with this theme, but not nearly as excited as my little girls are! Parties can be done in your home, or just on facebook in an open format group that is left open for a whole week for guests to come and go as they please! And yes, mommy and me parties can definitely be done on FB as well as in home (think about it... how many of our kids love to play games on our phones/computers/tablets with our supervision already?? Why not let them play games and get free sparkly frozen themed nails out of it?!)

Host a Frozen themed Jamberry Party with your friends (or your daughter and her friends, or your friends who have daughters... you catch my drift...) and let me do all the work to get some super 'cool' Jamberry wraps for free ~ for you, your little girl, or even both!

Visit joyandjam.jamberrynails.net/shop to browse the new Jamberry catalog, featuring all the gorgeous 'frozen' looking wraps featured here and much more.

And in other (yet still related) news, stay tuned in the coming weeks for news about my all inclusive princess birthday party packages featuring an actual visit at your home from Queen Elsa (!) and full frozen themed manicures for your little princess and her friends. Fallin' in love with Jamberry

Fallin' in love with Jamberry
Fallin' in love with Jamberry featuring Jamberry Nail Shields in Gold Sparkle, Champagne toast, Luna, Pumpkin spice & Arrow

Well, September has arrived (it's quite literally blown in with a bang here in Southwest Missouri after a rather large storm last night!), and though saying goodbye to summer can be a little sad, I do love Fall and all the lovely things that come along with it... like pumpkin spice lattes, cable knit sweaters, brown leather boots and my mom's amazing apple pie. The changing seasons also mean fun and fashionable new products for me as a Jamberry consultant, and I'm excited to share them with all my jamberry lovin' girlfriends! That's right - the new Fall/Winter catalog has arrived, and I have already gone through my personal copy and absolutely mutilated it with folded pages, highlighted products and big ink drawn circles scribbled around all the (bazillions) of new wraps I want for my collection. My daughters have also ransacked my consultant kit and nabbed a "little girls copy" for themselves, which they have also marked up to their little hearts' content indicating a vast number of wraps that they would like for Christmas this year (they're still getting the concept of time and I think  especially after seeing all the new adorable wintery/holiday designs that they aren't quite realizing that Christmas is still a ways away! You'd think the consistent 100 degree weather here in Joplin might be a hint!) ;) Despite the fact that I am not quite ready for Christmas, looking at all the cozy new patterns gets me excited for the cool sweater/scarf weather and crisp autumn walks with my family - playing in the colored leaves, getting back into the flow of school and learning together, and cozying up with my hubby in the family room we've been working on together for the past 6 months (and finally finished - yay!) by a crackling fire. Jamberry wraps are not a necessity by any means, nor is staying on trend with fall fashion, or even my beloved pumpkin spice lattes. But they sure are fun. And I admit, I stayed up past my bedtime last night on pinterest, adding to my Jamberry wishlist board just in case my husband feels like looking there for ideas for my upcoming birthday this month... ;) If you want to take a peek at it, here's the link: http://www.pinterest.com/thankfulmamaof4/jamberry-wishlist/  :) What about you? Do you have a Jamberry wishlist? Jamberry does make a great gift option, so be thinking ahead for stocking stuffer ideas, etc in the coming months whenever you start thinking about Christmas shopping! In the mean time, Jamberry nails are affordable, fun and appropriate for any day or season, and there's a ton of fun fall designs for RIGHT NOW that I am absolutely loving. If you have a couple of bucks in your budget for a little girly splurge, I highly recommend you take a look at the new catalog!! For the price of one salon manicure, you can snag yourself 4 sheets of manicure shields good for 8 manis and 8 pedis! That's 16 weeks worth of manicures and 32 weeks worth of pedis. Yep... Jamberry splurges go a long way, baby ;) If you don't have a lot of spending money in the budget, $15 will get you one sheet of jamberry which is still good for 2 manis and 2 pedis - pretty good deal if you ask me. Look for our wraps with the "there's more!" label and click on the design to see our variety of new wrap designs that include more than one (complimentary, coordinating) design all on ONE sheet for some added variety without breaking the bank (like the "tea party" and "night life" designs I've shown on this post). And if things are REALLY tight, or if your wishlist is even close to as long as mine is, and there's no way you can possibly purchase all the Jamberry you want without being totally irresponsible, consider hosting your own Jamberry party and earning a ton of Jamberry products FREE for yourself! Check out my "Host a party" link to the left of the page for more details on how you can do that in your home or 100% online with your facebook friends.

Has all this talk of Christmas approaching got you thinking about needing extra income for the holidays? If you're interested in owning your own Jamberry business, I'd love to have you on my team! Jamberry is an awesome company and I would love to tell you more about it. Contact me or click on "become a Jamberry consultant" on the left sidebar for details! :)

Happy September everyone!

Blessings,
Alicia xo

Introductions

So, I've never been a big nail salon person... probably because my only experiences with getting my nails done have been like the one above! Though absolutely hilarious, it's funny because it's so TRUE!!! What began as a reason to get together with my girlfriends and have some girls' time out while getting an inexpensive mani turned into an overpriced guilt trip between me and the "beautician" - in which I ended up walking out completely confused as to how on earth I now had $60 less in my bank account, 3 inches extended to my hands and feet, and some gaudy color reminiscent of Jem and the Holograms on my nails.  Maybe some of you can relate.

I also don't enjoy getting my nails done because I am frugal. That's a nice, politically correct way to say I am hopelessly cheap. Regardless of my life circumstances and financial situation (and I've been on both ends of the spectrum) I have for one reason or another never been able to justify spending very much money on things I don't need. Even when it's fun to spend it. Even when the money isn't mine (like in the case of gifts, etc) - it still just bothers me to no end when I know I've spent more than necessary on something that is... well, not necessary! I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mama of 4 and I know how hard my husband works and how much he sacrifices to provide food in their bellies, quality curriculum for their brains and clothes on their backs. I also know how much I sacrifice by staying home and investing in their lives rather than working out of the home and raking in the extra mullah that could certainly come in handy at times.

For the sake of our family and in the name of good stewardship, we try to keep a tight reign on our budget even at the best of times, and though I do enjoy fashion & beauty products to some degree (even these days, when Snuggli carriers and nursing capes count as wardrobe accessories), shelling out hard earned cash to beautify my nails just has never been a financial priority. Is that because I don't like having pretty nails? Nope. Is it because I'm too practical for girly stuff? Nope. In fact, not very long ago when I worked as an international model, I lived a pretty different life than I do now. I was extremely immersed in the fashion and beauty culture, and although most of that was a time I'd rather block out of my memory completely, part of it was fun. Sitting in the chair for 2 hours while chatting with the makeup artist about life, faith, love, and girly products? LOVED it.... could have sat there all day and completely skipped the photography part... but of course they weren't paying me just to play makeover party with the MU artists(sad!). Although it was my job, I did actually find it fun to play dressup and feel pampered a little before the work began.
Who wouldn't? As much as I maintain that the life of a model is dark, lonely, emotionally taxing and overall fairly ugly, there are definitely some glamorous perks. But none of that was ever worth the time I had to invest in my "career" away from my children - the place I so desperately wanted to be, and the true career I have always felt called to have.

These days, life is busy, my work is completely different, and I love it that way. I am absolutely living my dream - right here with my children where I belong. But I'm sure it goes without saying that the life of a SAHM doesn't always include a lot of glamour, girl time, or pampering. Sometimes, if it doesn't infringe on one's priorities or take away from what's truly important in life, it can be kind of nice to indulge in a LITTLE of that every once in a while! That's where Jamberry comes in.

For those who haven't heard of Jamberry, I encourage you to click on the link to the left of this website entitled "What's Jamberry?" and if you have time, check out the "Meet Alicia" link as well, which explains what I love about the company and how/why I got involved. Basically, Jamberry is great because it provides me with some girly, beautiful indulgent fun for a price that even I can't feel guilty about. (Literally less than $5 per manicure. And way classier looking than "Pretty Nail Salon" ;) Just sayin'.) It also gives me an opportunity to have some girl time - whether it's half an hour by myself, or even in the same room with my family without giving them all headaches from nail fumes (Yep, this stuff is non toxic and stink-free... yay! No stoned babies is always good, right?), having some mama/daughter time with my little girls (who love the nail wraps more than I do) or getting together with my girlfriends for some fun hangout time. If you've been lurking on the website and love what you see (or aren't sure & want to try it out), check out the "book a party" link! As a hostess, you get rewarded big time just for partying with me (even on fb if you're not local, or if you're more of an introverted non-party-having type... but still like free stuff and pretty nails) - there's a "hostess rewards" chart on there for reference if you're interested to know what's in it for you... in my biased opinion it is a very good deal :)

Aside from the product itself, joining Jamberry as a consultant has been a huge answer to prayer for me personally. Not only do I now get PAID to do the above, all while still prioritizing life and work with my children/family at home- I get the chance through networking & throwing parties online and in person to meet and get together with a whole lot of other ladies, which is awesome! So income, social time & (cheap) girly indulgence come together in one fun little package with a Jamberry logo on it. Beautiful! :) It's actually pretty exciting for the ambitious entrepreneurial-minded ladies too... Jamberry is a fairly new but well established business that's growing, gaining popularity and grabbing media/industry attention FAST, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it during this exciting "take off" phase. If you are interested in joining my team, click on the "contact me" link and tell me about it! The beauty of this business is that it's super easy to connect with each other and with others over the net, even with hours and borders between physical locations. Extensive training and support is provided through online courses and for 99 bucks you get everything you need to own and grow your own business wherever you may be at - location wise and circumstantially. :) Questions? I'd be thrilled to answer any you want to throw my way... Just ask :)

For any friends checking this out, thanks so much for stopping by! If you just stumbled upon my website & we haven't met yet, hope you'll introduce yourself and drop me a line!

Blessings,
Alicia
